Seeking Communications Support

Support
Community Food Strategies is looking for volunteer support for our Communications Team, helping us share the stories of our growing network of local food councils across North Carolina. Capturing the stories from food councils is an important part of our upcoming communications strategy – to share their successes and lessons learned with other food councils, funders, and future partners. If you have a story that you want to share, please let us know.
We are interested in journalists, photographers, designers, and others interested in communications, as well as food and farming issues. We have lots of ideas for stories and also are open to hearing your own. Our goal is to have one or more enthusiastic supporters to contribute to our story bank and communications projects through conducting interviews, writing stories, taking photographs, updating the website, collecting newsletter content, and contributing to an engaging platform of story sharing.
Food councils have helped advance urban agriculture ordinances, hosted Candidate Forums, established new food pantry sites, coordinated fundraisers for local farmers, served as advisors to farmland preservation plans, fostered the creation of local food hubs and incubator farms, and convened gatherings for unlikely conversations that will advance food systems change. Help us collect and share these stories!
Projects can begin in January 2017 and will be flexible in duration depending project needs and candidate’s interest, availability, and skills.
