New Video | Growing Connections for Farmers in Northeastern NC
Thank you to everyone who attended this video premier on Thursday, January 13th!
The event was a wonderful success thanks to all of you. The video is Amazing (rated by the audience to confirm), we heard from cast members and community members, and had time to discuss how we can activate this energy for supporting farmers as the foundation of our regional food system.

Here are 10 specific steps that attendees named as great ways to move forward.
- Tell the story of your region around food.

Continue to host similar events & share the video!

Invest local dollars in convening farmers for education and collaboration.

Support small farmers in particular with networking and formalized support.

Expand/support programs like Double Up Food Bucks/Produce RX programs.

Expand WIC programs

Call your local decision makers.

Include local decision-makers in groups and conversations – show them the needs!

Continue to engage in these group spaces to get to know each other and build our own energy! Make sure folks are connected to wonderful groups such as Community Food Strategies, MDC Rural Forward, RAFI, CEFS, Resourceful Communities, NC Council of Churches, UMC, PICH, ABC2 etc
