Summer Updates from Community Food Strategies
Team Member Appreciation
Our team is evolving, and we’re excited about the journey ahead! Over the last five months, we’ve celebrated the contributions and new directions of several team members: Jaylen Cates, Community Food Strategies Policy Lead; Gini Knight; Network Director and Project Curator; Miles Kirksey, Policy Team Community Support, and Suzy Khachaturyan, ARPA Academy Co-lead. Jaylen and Gini were ushers of this work and this team for 10 years and 8 years, respectively, and their mark on our team, our culture, and this Network will be felt for years to come. Miles and Suzy were team members for 5 years and 2 years, and their presence has been powerful and positive. We are so supportive of growth and new horizons for each of these teammates, and, we miss them dearly.
We are equally thrilled to welcome new voices to our team. We are so happy to share that Brett Rapkin-Citrenbaum has started as our new Policy Lead, and will help shape the vision for how we support policy engagement with the Networks. We are welcoming a new Community Mobilizer through our partnership with CFSA in June. Kana Miller has also joined us to support our community connections with the Regional Food Systems Partnership Project we are hosting in the West and Triad regions. We’re excited for you to meet these new folks at our upcoming engagements.
