Elliott J. Royal is a dedicated advocate for food access and equity, with extensive experience in community outreach and engagement. She is currently the Executive Director of the West Blvd Neighborhood Coalition and has spent over a decade building relationships and promoting the well-being of all community members. Her career covers multiple sectors, including academia, nonprofits, local government, and the private sector. Elliott holds an undergraduate degree from Salisbury University and an MBA from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. She has also expanded her skills through certifications in diversity, equity, and inclusion from the University of South Florida and the Institute for Diversity Certification, where she earned the title of Certified Diversity Executive (CDE)®. Additionally, Elliott is working towards a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In spring 2020, she participated in the FSLN Community Food Systems Mentorship Program, an initiative by the Food Systems Leadership Network (FSLN) aimed at supporting emerging leaders in food systems. This experience further sharpened her leadership skills and strengthened her dedication to creating equitable food systems. Currently, Elliott is actively involved in launching Three Sisters Market, a food cooperative in Charlotte, NC, focused on providing affordable, healthy food options and fostering cooperative economics. She has played a key role in developing initiatives to combat food insecurity and promote sustainable food systems. Motivated by her belief in community-led solutions, her commitment to food access remains steadfast. Elliott’s dedication to creating equitable opportunities for all is reflected in her persistent work and advocacy.
