Join us for the Food & Solidarity Economy 101 workshop. It is a practical introduction of the values and tools of Solidarity Economy and how they can be used to shift our food systems towards equity and justice. 

This will be a virtual version of the teach-in session that we offered at our in-person Regional Gatherings earlier this year.

Whether you’re a community organizer, farmworker, student, or a food business entrepreneur this workshop is designed for food system leaders who are curious about building regional food systems that are moving us from short-term charity towards long-term community-rooted solutions. Come ready to connect, ask questions, and explore ways to build a food economy that cares.

Desired Outcomes

• Participants will learn about the framework and movement of Solidarity Economy and how it relates to food systems work.
• Participants will learn about North Carolinian efforts rooted in cooperation, shared ownership, and community care.
• Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on how communities are re?imagining food—from land and labor to local markets and mutual aid.
