On March 15 – 16, 2023 in Rocky Mount we held Community Food Strategies’ signature statewide event which brings together community food advocates from across the state.

These leading insights came from facilitated conversations with different identity groups during the COVID-19 pandemic. They shared their reflections on the food system, their communities, and what could be different.
To practice equity, and build relationships, knowledge, and accountability, eleven food councils came together to deeply learn about issues, give critical feedback on, and distribute funding for each other’s work through the 2022 Shared Gifting participatory grantmaking.
