Community-based food systems are complex and have many inter-connected parts. Successful food councils incorporate learning into their earliest stages of development. Engaging people across different organizations and communities, enriches the learning experience.
The Community Food Strategies initiative creates learning opportunities that align with interests identified by the network of food councils.
Learning Opportunities

- Connecting for Our Future: A Gathering of North Carolina Food Councils December 4-5, 2014. Increase alignment and coordination of efforts across state and local groups working on local food systems by convening these groups in a face-to-face context to learn together.
