Conduct Self-Assessment

Fruit Tree

While continuous collaborative learning and reflection are important for community groups and food councils to develop early in the growth and expansion phases. These processes stimulate coordinated action and strengthen the council network, and the food system; it is critical to take an assessment of the council’s effectiveness in the context of the food system it serves. A self-assessment can help a group or council to adjust it’s strategic plan, and align it’s mission, vision and actions to the communities it serves.

We are working with the University of North Carolina to research best practices and effectiveness of food councils nationally. For more information about how to conduct and assessment, please contact us.
